Potty Training

lets just say what an epic fail it was, I thought we both were ready for it but how wrong I was.
it was completely opposite than what I thought of.
for quite sometime Cynthia was showing interest in we(me and her father) going to toilet. she will get super excited every time I tell her I'm going to toilet she will sometime open the toilet seat for me plus every time she poop or wee in her nappy she will let me know that she did a wee or poop, and she will ask to change her nappy and show sign of discomfort in her nappy.
so my mummies instinct immediately presume that she is ready for potty training. the first thing I did was to buy her potty before we start potty training so she can get familiar with it. the day we bought the potty I told her its her big girl toilet and I thought she understand that until when she stuck her head in her brand new potty it was stuck around her neck so she couldn't move her head ! Oh my days
I wish I had took her picture. but we were too panic to take a picture as she was screaming...
well after a week of introducing her to her new potty and she start calling it her big girl toilet, I thought its time to say bye bye to dear Nappy.
I have started it in the morning as soon as she woken up she had already poop in her nappy, so I thought it gonna be easy. I was mentally prepare for accidents. so I clean her up and left her without nappy she was thrilled and happy not to be in nappy she was jumping around and keep telling me "mummy no nappy" I explained to her if she need to wee she need to do it in her big girl toilet. I asked her couple of time if she need to wee but she said she is fine and when I asked to sit on her potty that's when its all started, she has refused to sit on her potty she immediately start crying and wouldn't sit on it. I told her ok when you ready for wee then you can sit on your big girl toilet after. asking her couple of times she sat on her with her pants on and wouldn't remove them I tried to remove her pants(which I shouldn't have done it) she start screaming and try to hit me and pulling my hair and was asking to put her pants on. she cry to the point where she was completely exhausted. I put her pants on and aske her to sit on her potty when she is ready. she wee six times in period of five hours time in her pants she was still refusing to sit on her potty by that time we were both completely exhausted and she looked so disturb and tired I feel really so I gave up and put her back in her nappy and she felt so safe and content in her nappy.
she definitely wasn't ready for this big change. every kid is different so do their growth progress some will learn early some will late, well actually there is no late they will learn when they are ready. the biggest mistake we can make as parent to compare our kids to others and put pressure on them and ourselves just because our society have fix standers that kids should learn this by this time and do that by that time. do your children and yourself a favour and stop doing that right now ! listen to your child and do things accordingly. I have learn that from this experience and I will potty train her when she is ready and ask to use toilet.
would love to listen your experiences.
